Dahlia Most Divine - September Floral Arrangement

It wasn’t long ago that we were wishing for the advance of Summer, and ever the fickle Englishmen (women), we are now utterly ready for some cooler weather and a break in the humidity. The other morning we were treated to our first glimpse of the season ahead. Up and about super early to deliver a wedding, after a baking day previously, we’d enjoyed a rain shower through the evening and the morning was breaking through an almost romantic low settling of fog. We’re privileged to live very close to a local flower grower and on this particular morning, rounded the corner just as another florist friend was loading her van with the MOST beautiful muddy coloured dahlias. We love whites, pinks, all the pretty girls as much as the next person, but those dark chocolatey dahlias are where the parties at. So, in honour of the dahlia, here is our little offering for September.

The ingredients to this arrangement are:
1 x  Metallic Ceramic Vase 20005 – These are new in and to die for
6 x  Dusty Purple Dahlia 19741
9 x  Eucalyptus Spray 19051
3 x  Café au Lait Dahlia 19571
3 x  Cream Cosmos Spray 19572
3 x  Viburnum Berry 19592
3 x Heirloom Poppy 19679

Method
We chopped all the stems for this one as we wanted to use this heavy-set short vase. We did each piece individually though, so start placing your eucalyptus around the case, there should just be enough to give you a nice coverage and provide a framework for the flowers to nestle in.

Next add the cosmos sprays. Pull apart all the stems as these too help provide structure for the other flowers. Next add the flowers and berries in a way that seems incidental but pleasing.
